Ethereum Madrid public health virtual hackathon

Dear devs,

As you well know, the situation the world is going through is complicated and is disrupting many planned events and conferences. The crypto world have witnessed recent events canceled or virtualized.

The situation in Madrid right now is critical: the country is in a state of alarm and transit of people is restricted for the next two weeks, although it is expected to last longer, as we have seen in China. For this reason, the decision to cancel the Ethereum Madrid 2020 Hackathon, scheduled for the end of May in Madrid, should not surprise anyone. It is everyone’s duty to be responsible and avoid unnecessary travel and concentration.

However, after an intense internal discussion, we have decided that we cannot sit idly by either. Therefore, we have decided that this year the Ethereum Madrid 2020 Hackathon will be virtual and this year’s theme will be «Decentralized Organizations for Public Health Emergencies”.

The crypto community has already shown in the past to be enormously supportive and creative, so we hope that through this initiative the community can contribute to improve the situation. We can’t wait to help you discover how virtual communities can respond equally or better than centralized systems / governments.
